RSG - Straightness gauge
for welds and rails

The device's body houses a graphical display and a membrane keyboard, making it possible for the operator to communicate with the microprocessor-based control unit of the gauge. The operator can specify location of the weld in the track and supply all additional information supplementing the measurement results using this keyboard. When the measurement is completed, the measured profile and its evaluation results are displayed on the screen.

The operator can store the measurement results in the control unit's memory and, having completed a series of measurements, can transfer the measurement results by the RS 232 serial interface to the PC hard disk.

The gauge is delivered with the extensive Windows based PC software, making it possible to archive the results, evaluate them, and to follow the growing rail wear in time. Moreover, it is possible to print out the measurement reports. The rail straightness gauge is designed for measurement of straightness of welds, joints and insulated joints. The non-contact measurements are made in two planes simultaneously. Moreover, the device makes it possible to evaluate rail corrugation in the vertical plane. Its unique feature is its possibility of evaluating the rail's corrugation on lengths exceeding the device's body length, thanks to the overlapping algorithm used for the measurements - the measurements can be taken on lengths of even 30m or more - if needed. Therefore, the gauge may be used for evaluation of corrugation not only within the short wave range (0.03-0.3) m but also with lengths of (0.3-1) m and (1-3) m
