Electronic Vernier for Wheels

The device is designed for measurements of the Ow, Og, and qR geometrical parameters, characterizing the running tread of the rolling stock wheels. The measurements may be carried out without taking out the wheel sets. The operator mounts the gauge onto the wheel using the screw clamp and presses the key actuating the automatic measurement cycle. In two seconds the measured Ow, Og, and qR parameters are shown on the alphanumeric display. The gauge signals when the measured parameters exceed the allowed values.

The allowable values of these parameters may be set by the operator according to the requirements of the railways regulations. The operator can also enter the measurement results into the electronic memory of the device, and after completing the measurements he can transfer the results through the serial interface to the hard disk of the PC computer. The device is supplied with the PC software that makes possible archiving and comparing the results, as well as printout of the measurement protocols.
