Rail measurement system in Huta Królewska (Poland)
The rail measurement system in Huta Królewska is capable of measuring a wide variety of rail profiles. The measured parameters include waviness of the rail crown surface, straightness of the side surface of the rail head, foot twist, and parameters of the transverse section, like rail height, head width, web thickness, foot width and flatness, as well as right and left asymmetry. The rail quality is evaluated automatically immediately after the measurement. The rail measurement results are displayed on screen and can be printed either for the individual rails or for the selected groups of rails. The operator can specify tolerances for different rail profiles and different contracts.
